The Journey

"It's not the destination but the journey", is a saying I have heard many times over the years. This morning as I rolled out of bed after a late night flight in from Banff, my thoughts drifted to my recent travels. From the experiences I had to the people I met, something profound was triggered in me.

I felt more alive than I have felt in a really long time.

So here I am. I was re-inspired to open up my travel blog this morning.

This hasn't happened in over six years.

My most recent thoughts made me realize, I have a lot to share about my journeys from snorkeling in Belize, devouring Nutella brioche at one of the best bakeries in Whistler, traveling the world to meet and watch performances of my favorite band in Dublin, sipping a delightful latte overlooking the Amalfi coast in Italy and the list goes on.

In addition to sharing these experiences, I need to share with my travel readers information that goes way beyond a site that you visit, but are all part of the travel experience. From proper planning, the return home, dealing with transitions and how traveling could be the medicine you need to feel refreshed, revived and ready to take on the world and even the question I am asked the most, how do I afford to travel as much as I do. All of this is part of the journey.

I was amazed at the drafts still waiting on my blog site that need to be edited and shared with the world as well as realizing the posts that still need to be written. I guess this is the perfect time to awaken the Destination Traveler, as it is truly about the journey one takes and all the experiences you have to get there!
